Big Brother 4 is the fourth season of Big Brother Minecraft. It premiered on February 21, 2014 and finished on March 22, 2014. On Day 30, Dustin was crowned the winner, receiving 5 votes, over Josh's 2.
Production
Renovation of the Big Brother house began in the middle of January, a month after the third season's finale. The house features a "Japanese Influence" theme, with a classic Japanese kitchen, a modern Japanese living room, an arcade-inspired room, a wooden bathroom, a city bedroom, a yin-yang bedroom, and a zen HOH room.
Format
Houseguests were sequestered in the Big Brother House with no contact to or from the outside world. Each week, the Houseguests took part in several compulsory challenges that determine who will win food, luxuries, and power in the House. The winner of the weekly Head of Household competition was immune from nominations and nominated two fellow Houseguests for eviction. After a Houseguest became Head of Household, he or she was ineligible to take part in the next Head of Household competition. This season featured a twist called, "Battle of the Elements," where the Houseguests were organized into teams based on the four basic elements - fire, water, earth, and air. If a member of one team won Head of Household, the rest of the team was safe from eviction.
On eviction night, all Houseguests except for the Head of Household and the two nominees vote to evict one of the two nominees. This compulsory vote was conducted in the privacy of the Diary Room by the host Julie Chen. In the event of a tie, the Head of Household cast the deciding vote, announcing it in front of the other Houseguests. The nominee with the greater number of votes will be evicted from the House on the live eviction episode, exiting to an adjacent studio to be interviewed by Chen. Houseguests may voluntarily leave the House at any time and those who break the rules may be expelled from the house by Big Brother. The final seven Houseguests evicted during the season will vote for the winner on the season finale. These "Jury Members" will be sequestered in a separate house and will not be allowed to watch the show except for competitions and ceremonies that include all of the remaining Houseguests. The jury members will not be shown any Diary Room interviews or any footage that may include strategy or details regarding nominations.
Houseguests
Twelve Houseguests were cast for this season of Big Brother. The twelve Houseguests themselves were notified that they had been cast on February 20, 2014, one day before the premiere. They had no knowledge of who the other cast members were until the premiere.

Weekly Summary
Week 1
Julie Chen welcomed twelve new Houseguests into the house. She immediately informed them that they would be competing in four teams of three, each named after one of the four natural elements - fire, water, earth, and air. This twist, dubbed "Battle of the Elements," organized the Houseguests by personality traits. Once in their teams the Houseguests faced their first Head of Household competition. The competition required a team effort, with each team member having to cross through various obstacles. Team Fire and Air teams struggled to get a single member across, while Team Earth and Water had a close race. As Bubba, a member of Team Fire, struggled to make it across, his teammates Isaiah and Nick began to suspect he was throwing the competition. In the end, Team Water's Hanna was the winner, leaving Robert and Nate safe for the first week. After the competition, Team Water, composed of Hanna, Nate, and Robert, and Isaiah and Nick, two members of Team Fire, formed an alliance they called "Smoke." Isaiah and Nick agreed to get rid of Bubba, a member of their team. At the nomination ceremony, Hanna nominated Bubba against Warren, a pawn. Hanna was able to keep her nominations in tact after she won the first Power of Veto competition. That night, Griffin overheard Nate mentioning the Smoke alliance. Nate denied it to him and the rest of the house, who did not believe Griffin. Josh, who had also heard Nate mention the alliance, was promised safety by Nate in exchange for silence. When Bubba caught wind that he was most likely leaving the house he decided to burn the house's food in the backyard fire, further isolating him from the house. On eviction night Bubba was evicted by a vote of 9-0.
Week 2
The HOH competition pitted the teams against each other, leaving Nate in power and giving Team Water safety for a second week. Nate decided that Griffin had to leave the house in order to keep the Smoke alliance safe. He decided to nominate two pawns, Dustin and Ray. When Dustin won the Power of Veto, Nate's plan was set in motion as he renominated Griffin as the replacement nominee. Also at the Power of Veto ceremony, Ray made a speech telling the house that he wanted to be voted out. Regardless, Griffin, who had ruffled the feathers of many Houseguests, was evicted by a vote of 8-0.
Week 3
Nick became the new HOH, leaving Isaiah safe for the week. During the first two weeks the Smoke alliance had noticed Ray's sneaky ways. His behavior at the last Power of Veto competition also made him a larger target. Nick decided to nominate Josh and Ray, with Josh being a pawn. After winning the Power of Veto competition, Josh was able to save himself. Nick initially wanted to nominate Dustin as a pawn, but he realized that Sam would probably save his teammate Ray in the vote. He nominated Sam against Ray. In the end, Ray was evicted by a vote of 7-0.
Week 4
Robert earned another week of safety for Team Water when he won the season's first endurance competition. He decided that it was time to get rid of a member of his alliance. He nominated Nick against Sam, his pawn. When Nate won the Power of Veto, Team Water was able to keep Nick on the block. They were also able to get Isaiah on board with evicting Nick. Nick was evicted by a vote of 5-1.
Week 5
After Nick's eviction it was announced that the "Battle of the Elements" twist was over. Shortly after, Nate won his second HOH competition. Feeling on the outs, Sam formed an alliance nicknamed "The Underdogs," containing himself, Dustin, Warren, and Josh. They immediately began pushing for Nate to nominate Isaiah. Nate completely dismantled the Smoke alliance and nominated Isaiah against, Sam, his pawn; however, the Underdogs' plan fell apart when Isaiah won the Power of Veto. Nate nominated Dustin against Sam, leaving their alliance in pieces shortly after its formation. In the end, Sam was evicted by a vote of 3-2.
Day 15
Before Sam's eviction, Julie Chen announced that the night would be a double eviction night. Dustin won the Head of Household competition. He, Robert, and Hanna, who had recently formed a strong bond, decided that Isaiah would be the target. He decided to nominate Nate, who had recently nominated him, as a pawn against Isaiah. Robert and Hanna discussed the idea of sending Nate, a huge threat and ally, home, but Hanna decided that it was too early. She won the Power of Veto and told Nate that she would save him if he kept her, Robert, and Dustin safe for the rest of the game. She told him that Robert and Dustin were nervous. Nate agreed and was saved by Hanna. Dustin nominated Josh in his place. Isaiah was swiftly evicted by a vote of 4-0.
Week 6
After the double eviction, Nate won his third HOH competition. The house was split, with Robert, Hanna, Nate, and Dustin on one side and Josh and Warren on the other; however, Josh was aware of the fact that Nate was at the bottom of that alliance and tried to inform Nate. Nate insisted that he was aware, but he'd buy himself more time if he targeted Josh and Warren. Nate's paranoia of Robert and Hanna's loyalty was upped when, during the double eviction, Hanna said that Robert and Dustin were wary of him. He played it safe, nominating Josh and Warren. When Josh won the Power of Veto, Nate continued the tradition of he and Dustin using each other as pawns and nominated Dustin. In the end, Warren was evicted by a vote of 2-1.
Week 7
Nate, ineligible to compete for HOH, was told by Robert and Hanna that they would be throwing this week's HOH competition; however, they agreed not to for Nate's sake. When they immediately lost the competition and gave the win to Dustin, he began questioning their loyalty even further. Dustin nominated Josh and Nate. When Robert won the Power of Veto, he kept the nominations the same. Although the plan was initially to evict Josh, Hanna brought up the idea to get rid of Nate. Dustin and Robert immediately agreed. She and Robert were going to tie the vote and Dustin would break the tie. On eviction night, Nate's suspicions were confirmed when it was too late. He was evicted by a vote of 2-1.
Week 8
Robert won Head of Household, ensuring his spot in the final three. He nominated Josh and Dustin, with the intention of getting rid of Josh. In a unusually long final Power of Veto competition, Dustin won by default when the other Houseguests forfeit. Dustin and Josh made a deal behind Robert and Hanna's backs, leading Dustin to want to evict Hanna. Hanna pleaded with Dustin not to use the Power of Veto so she did not have to be nominated, but he naturally refused. Hanna was nervous but assumed that Josh would leave. On eviction night, Dustin pulled of the biggest blindside of the season when he decided he did not want to face Hanna and Robert together in the final two. He cast the sole vote to evict another member of the powerful Team Water, Hanna. Hanna was evicted by a vote of 1-0.
Week 9
Dustin attempted to mend fences with a furious Robert, but Robert behaved as though he was in a position of power, telling Dustin that he'd have to prove his loyalty. He and Dustin promised they would take each other to the final two, although both were lying. When Robert won part one of the final HOH competition, Dustin and Josh faced off in part two. Dustin won and part three became a battle to stay in the game, as both Dustin and Robert planned on evicting each other. Dustin became the final HOH and cast the sole vote to evict the third and final member of Team Water. Robert was evicted by a vote of 1-0.
Finale
The Jury was torn between the two finalists. They knew that Josh had done relatively nothing in the game, while Dustin evicted all of the members of Team Water, three strong threats. The vote seemed as though it could go either way. At first, Robert, Nate, and Sam wanted to vote Dustin and Hanna, Warren, Isaiah, and Nick wanted to vote Josh; however, during the Jury questioning portion of the finale, Josh claimed that his biggest move was playing under the radar, which Nick admitted caused him to change his vote. Dustin's heartfelt apology to Hanna also convinced her to vote for him. Ultimately, the Jury awarded Dustin for his sneaky gameplay and ability to make big moves when necessary. He won the season by a vote of 5-2.
