Big Brother 3 is the third season of Big Brother MinecraftIt premiered on November 15, 2013 and finished on December 14, 2013. On Day 30, Jason was crowned the winner, receiving 5 votes, over Nico's 2.

Production

Renovation of the Big Brother house began in August, shortly after the second season's finale. The house features a "Winter Lodge" theme, with a wooden kitchen and living room, a fireplace room, a spa-inspired bathroom, a gift bedroom, a romance bedroom, and an HOH room designed to look like a lodge suite.

Format

Houseguests were sequestered in the Big Brother House with no contact to or from the outside world. Each week, the Houseguests took part in several compulsory challenges that determine who will win food, luxuries, and power in the House. The winner of the weekly Head of Household competition was immune from nominations and nominated two fellow Houseguests for eviction. After a HouseGuest became Head of Household, he or she was ineligible to take part in the next Head of Household competition. In a unique twist dubbed, "The Chain Reaction," the Head of Household only had to nominate one Houseguest for a eviction, after another Houseguest was nominated by the house as they took turns saving one Houseguest at a time. The Houseguest that was not chosen would become a nominee. The winner of the Power of Veto competition won the right to save one of the nominated Houseguests from eviction. If the Veto winner exercised the power, the Head of Household then nominated another Houseguest for eviction.

On eviction night, all Houseguests except for the Head of Household and the two nominees vote to evict one of the two nominees. This compulsory vote was conducted in the privacy of the Diary Room by the host Julie Chen. In the event of a tie, the Head of Household cast the deciding vote, announcing it in front of the other Houseguests. The nominee with the greater number of votes will be evicted from the House on the live eviction episode, exiting to an adjacent studio to be interviewed by Chen. Houseguests may voluntarily leave the House at any time and those who break the rules may be expelled from the house by Big Brother. The final seven Houseguests evicted during the season will vote for the winner on the season finale. These "Jury Members" will be sequestered in a separate house and will not be allowed to watch the show except for competitions and ceremonies that include all of the remaining Houseguests. The jury members will not be shown any Diary Room interviews or any footage that may include strategy or details regarding nominations.

Houseguests

Twelve Houseguests were cast for this season of Big Brother. The twelve Houseguests themselves were notified that they had been cast on November 13, 2013, two days before the premiere. They had no knowledge of who the other cast members were until the premiere.

Twelve new Houseguests entered the Big Brother house. Before competing in their first Head of Household Competition, Julie Chen informed them that the relationships they made early on could make a huge difference. At the Head of Household Competition, Jason finished for his team and Nico, awhile later, finished for his. Nico won the final heat, making him the first Head of Household of the season. The twist was revealed to be called, "The Chain Reaction." The Head of Household would nominate only one Houseguest for eviction, alongside a predetermined "chain nominee." This nominee would be decided after creating a human chain - where the HOH would begin by saving one Houseguest, who would then save another, and so on. The last Houseguest remaining would be nominated for eviction. The chain completed on the first night left Michael up on the chopping block.
The next day, an alliance of five was formed between Matt, Connor, Michael, Clarissa, and Bennett called "The Creepers." When Matt and fellow Houseguest Eric began arguing with each other, Eric began trashing Matt to his close friend, Connor. Connor, a member of the Creepers with Matt, and Eric both went to Nico with this. The three of them agreed to target Matt for the week and formed an alliance called "The Ringleaders," along with Maxwell In the process, Connor decided to completely jump ship, revealing the Creepers alliance to Nico and Eric. When Connor informed Bennett of these changes, he invited him to join the Ringleaders. Although Nico was unaware of this addition, he went along with it nonetheless. Nico nominated Matt at the nomination ceremony, putting the plan to remove him from the house in motion. When Michael, the chain nominee, won the Power of Veto and saved himself, a new chain had to be made. This time it was Kevin at the bottom, forcing him to take Michael's position. In the end, Matt was evicted by a vote of 6-3.

Jojo, a wild card in the game, became the new Head of Household. Immediately after surviving an eviction, Kevin was placed back on the chopping block by the Chain Reaction twist. Jojo, aligned with Marks and Eric, informed them of her decision to nominate Clarissa. Eric, a member of the Ringleaders, informed Nico of this decision, who leaked it to Clarissa, his romantic interest in the house. Luckily for them, Jojo was still unsure. After a short conversation with Nico, Jojo's mind was changed. Nico said that Michael's POV win the previous week made him a threat, causing Jojo to nominate Michael at the nomination ceremony.
After winning the Power of Veto, Nico decided to keep the nominations the same. Most of the house informed Michael he was to be evicted, solely because of his competition win the previous week. Michael was evicted by a vote of 5-3.

Nico was victorious at the Head of Household competition, giving him his second HOH win. Clarissa was nominated by the twist shortly afterwards. Nico, wanting to get rid of the person he knew was targeting his showmance partner, Clarissa, nominated Jojo. On the side, Nico also took up a romantic relationship with fellow Houseguest Marks, whom he had discretely added to the Ringleaders alliance the previous week. When Eric's loud mouth and inability to keep things quiet began to irk Nico and Connor, a plan was momentarily considered. They would force Eric up with the Chain Reaction twist, leaving their hands bloodless. However, Bennett believed it was far too early to turn on Eric. At the Power of Veto competition, Connor came out on top. The two members of the Ringleaders decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to remove Eric from the house. Against Bennett's last minute pleads, Connor used the Power of Veto on Clarissa. Nico and Connor successfully diverted the chain away from Eric, eventually forcing Bennett to save either Jason or Eric. Against his allies' pleading, he saved Eric. The other members of the alliances decided that Bennett was now as big of a target as Eric. In the end, Jojo was evicted by a vote of 7-0.

Prior to the Head of Household competition, Julie Chen informed the house that the Chain Reaction twist was officially over. The HOH would now decide both nominees. The Head of Household competition, a battle of endurance, crowned Kevin the new Head of Household. He immediately had his sights set on Eric, who had continuously offered him deals that he couldn't possibly keep - even promising him and others that he could give them safety until the final five if they dropped. Meanwhile, Bennett spread the story of a fake conversation he had with Nico. In this conversation, Nico expresses his desire to get rid of both Connor and Eric. At the nomination ceremony, Kevin nominated both Eric and Bennett, his pawn. When Maxwell won the Power of Veto, he was pressured by Eric to use it on him. However, Maxwell knew that the house wanted Eric out, so he kept the nominations in tact. After a night of strong campaigning, Eric was able to sway Nico, Marks, and Maxwell to keep him. When the vote was tied, Kevin looked immediately at Nico for advice. Nico hinted that he should evict Bennett. In a shocking blindside, Bennett was evicted by a vote of 4-3.

Prior to Bennett's eviction, Julie Chen announced that this week would be a double eviction week. With the threat of eviction looming over, Marks pulled out his first Head of Household competition win. Marks immediately nominated Jason and Clarissa. Although he had made a deal with Eric to not nominate him, Marks had the intention of backdooring him. When Clarissa won the Power of Veto, she contemplated a huge move. She knew it had to be used, but she decided that nobody would evict her over Eric. Jason, on the other hand, risked leaving against Eric. For this reason, she made the bold move of using the Power of Veto on Jason instead of herself. Luckily, the plan worked. Eric was evicted by a vote of 5-0.

The Head of Household competition pitted Clarissa and Kevin against each other in a final heat. Kevin, who had dominated the competition in the previous rounds, lost the final round to Clarissa. Clarissa, as the new Head of Household, immediately decided that she would nominate both Kevin and Jason. Unbeknownst to her, the two were in a tight alliance. At the nomination ceremony she did just that, leaving Jason perplexed as to why she would save him the previous week. The Power of Veto competition brought drama after Clarissa won against Nico's wishes for her to throw it to him. Nico decided that he wanted to break the record for the most competition wins in a season. When Clarissa ignored his asking her to throw it, he confronted her - leaving her in tears and completely destroying their relationship. At the Power of Veto competition, Clarissa kept her nominations in tact - all the while harboring an intense desire to see Nico leave. Before the vote was revealed, Kevin informed Jason that Jason would most likely be sent home; however, when the vote was revealed, Kevin was evicted by a vote of 3-1.

The week began with a split house. It was Nico, Marks, Jason, and Maxwell against Clarissa and Connor, who was unaware that Maxwell was completely against him. Nico became the new Head of Household, much to Clarissa and Connor's dismay. At the nomination ceremony, Nico nominated both Clarissa and Connor - two previous allies of his. Nico stated that this decision was to remove Clarissa from the house, primarily because she stood in the way of his breaking the record. At the Power of Veto competition, it came down to Nico, Clarissa, and Connor. In the end, Nico came out on top. He kept his nominations the same. The house was initially set on evicting Connor; however, once Connor approached Jason, a new alliance was formed. Jason decided he could discretely work with both sides of the house. Connor also approached Maxwell, who was still unsure. Against Nico's wishes to keep her, Clarissa was evicted by a vote of 3-0.

At the Head of Household competition, Jason came out on top. He went into the week completely set on getting rid of Marks. Not wanting to let Nico know that he was working with Connor, he nominated Connor as a pawn against Maxwell. At the Power of Veto competition, Connor came out on top. He saved himself, allowing Jason to backdoor Marks. Jason informed Nico that the plan was to evict Maxwell, while he told Connor of the real plan. The vote would be 1-1 and Jason would break the tie. Once Nico caught wind of this plan, he approached Jason and spent hours convincing him to evict Maxwell. At first, Nico's intense lobbying for Marks worried Jason, making him feel even stronger about the plan - but after a while, Jason decided to flip. Instead of surprising Connor with a different tiebreaker vote, he told Connor to evict Maxwell instead. In the end, Maxwell was evicted by a vote of 2-0.

Marks won the Head of Household competition, securing his spot in the final three. He nominated Jason and Nico, with the intention of covering up his showmance with Nico. Marks attempted to play both sides of the house, leading Connor to believe that he wanted Nico out as much as he did. When Marks won the final Power of Veto competition, he and Nico decided to reveal their showmance - leaving Connor to feel completely defeated. Marks used the Power of Veto on Nico, forcing Connor to take his place. In the end, Nico evicted Connor. Connor was evicted by a vote of 1-0.

The final three contained an alone Jason against the showmance of Nico and Marks. Jason won the first part of the final Head of Household competition. When it came time for the second part, Marks completely threw the competition to Nico. During this time, Jason spent much time convincing Nico that Marks would decimate Nico in a Jury vote - and Nico bought it. When Nico won part two and then part three, he became the final Head of Household. He decided that he only stood a chance against Jason in the final two and ended up evicting his showmance partner, Marks. Marks was evicted by a vote 1-0.

The majority of the Jury despised Nico for his nonchalant, brutal gameplay and poor social game. Although they partially believed that Jason wasn't entirely deserving of the win, they rewarded him for his consistent social game throughout, as well as his solid moves in the endgame. To close the season, Jason was crowned the winner by a vote of 5-2.
