Big Brother 2 is the second season of Big Brother MinecraftIt premiered on July 26, 2013 and was finished on August 24, 2013. On Day 30, Brittany was crowned the winner, receiving all 7 of the Jury's votes, whereas Alex received none. Brittany is the first and only winner to win the game unanimously.

Production

Renovation of the Big Brother house began in May, during the week after the first season's finale. The house design and pictures were released on July 1, 2013, featuring a "Wonderland" theme, with a purple kitchen, a sparkling green bathroom, a chesire-themed bedroom, a card-themed bedroom, a royal purple, hedge-filled living room, and a green Diary Room.

Format

Houseguests were sequestered in the Big Brother House with no contact to or from the outside world. Each week, the Houseguests took part in several compulsory challenges that determine who will win food, luxuries, and power in the House. The winner of the weekly Head of Household competition was immune from nominations and nominated two fellow Houseguests for eviction. After a Houseguests became Head of Household, he or she was ineligible to take part in the next Head of Household competition. The winner of the Power of Veto competition won the right to save one of the nominated Houseguests from eviction. If the Veto winner exercised the power, the Head of Household then nominated another Houseguest for eviction. In a twist to the normal format, four mystery boxes were released into the house; one given to the outgoing Head of Household, the surviving nominee, and one for two Houseguests they respectively choose. One box contains a golden Power of Veto, which holds the same power as the actual power. The holder could remain anonymous unless they decided to exercise this power or if the Head of Household attempted to nominate them.

On eviction night, all Houseguests except for the Head of Household and the two nominees vote to evict one of the two nominees. This compulsory vote was conducted in the privacy of the Diary Room by the host Julie Chen. In the event of a tie, the Head of Household cast the deciding vote, announcing it in front of the other Houseguests. The nominee with the greater number of votes will be evicted from the House on the live eviction episode, exiting to an adjacent studio to be interviewed by Chen. Houseguests may voluntarily leave the House at any time and those who break the rules may be expelled from the house by Big Brother. The final seven Houseguests evicted during the season will vote for the winner on the season finale. These "Jury Members" will be sequestered in a separate house and will not be allowed to watch the show except for competitions and ceremonies that include all of the remaining Houseguests. The jury members will not be shown any Diary Room interviews or any footage that may include strategy or details regarding nominations.

Houseguests

Twelve Houseguests were cast for this season of Big Brother. The twelve Houseguests themselves were notified that they had been cast on July 25, 2013, the day before the premiere. They had no knowledge of who the other cast members were until the premiere.

Twelve new Houseguests entered the Big Brother house. After settling in and getting to know each other, Julie Chen informed them that they were to immediately compete in their first Head of Household Competition. The competition came down to Pep and Derek in a final heat and, in the end, Pep became the first HOH of the season. After the competition, Julie Chen informed the Houseguests that a major twist would begin at the beginning of the second week. An alliance of six immediately formed between Pep, Jason, Josh, and three others. Jason expressed his disapproval of this alliance and the fact that he would jump ship when necessary. Pep decided to create minimal waves and nominated Kyle and Nick - two Houseguests that seemed disconnected from the house. After various Houseguests had approached the two nominees, they noticed that Kyle was willing to do anything to stay while Nick seemed too reserved to talk game. When Pep won the Power of Veto he decided to keep his nominations the same. The house was united against Nick's secretive nature and he was evicted by a vote of 9-0.

Julie Chen explained this season's twist to the house, telling them that one Houseguest would receive a secret Power of Veto each week. Fresh off of the block, Kyle became the new HOH. When JB found out he had won the secret veto he immediately informed Kyle and members of his alliance. Kyle, JB, and Pep, whom Kyle had made amends with, united under the common goal of having Josh evicted this week with the use of JB's secret power. Kyle nominated Marc and Pep as two pawns, knowing JB would use the veto to save Pep. In an effort to secure votes for their plan, Kyle and JB began asking the other Houseguests if they would evict Josh should the plan work out. Upon being asked this, Brittany leaked it to her closest ally and target of this plan, Josh. In an effort to secure as many votes as possible, Josh and Brittany brought Alex into their alliance. Alone in the game, Alex pledged loyalty to them. They called themselves the Underdogs. The night before the Veto competition, the house erupted into hours of arguments between Josh, Kyle, and JB; however, the plan was destroyed when Josh won the Power of Veto. After his victory, all of the people once against Josh began to attempt to mend their relationships. Josh forgave Kyle, sparking an alliance, but when JB approached him and began throwing his old allies under the bus, Josh and his new ally, Kyle, added him to their hit list. At the Veto Ceremony, JB used his veto on Pep and Josh used his on Marc, allowing Kyle to nominate both Derek and Jason, with Jason being the target. JB, not knowing he was already on the outs of his alliance, began pushing hard to keep Jason. JB's campaigning was of no use, as Jason was evicted by a vote 6-2.

After Josh and Brittany spent a week isolated from the house, the two were the last Houseguests remaining in the Head of Household competition. As a result, Alex changed the name of their alliance from the Underdogs to the Undergods. After Josh's victory, those that had threatened him last week rejoiced as they all felt they had rebuilt their bridges with him. While Josh had decided to work with Kyle, who had won this week's secret veto, JB's status with him was unknown. Josh revealed all of the ways that JB had thrown his allies under the bus last week, proving to Kyle that JB would do anything to stay in the house. Josh nominated Kyle and Connor, both pawns in a larger plan. He spent the week feigning friendship with JB, all the while harboring a plan to backdoor him. Although this plan was fully supported and pushed strongly by Kyle, Josh was wavering on what to do. He had mentioned that he hoped JB would win the Power of Veto competition to avoid having to backdoor him. After making it to the final round in the Power of Veto competition with Connor, Josh decided to throw it in order to gain Connor's trust and, ultimately, to not have to be the one to take someone off of the block. Leading up to the Power of Veto ceremony, Josh continued to express his uncertainty. In the end, he went through with his plan and nominated Pep after Kyle used his secret veto and JB after Connor used his veto. Shortly after the ceremony, Pep became sick and started ignoring everyone in the house, while showing signs that he might end up self-evicting. This left JB with the hope that he could end up surviving. Just minutes before the vote occurred, Pep explained that he did not want to leave the game. He was nervous that he would not be able to stay because he had come down with a sickness, but he would stick through it in the house. As a result, JB was evicted by a vote of 6-1.

The Houseguests began a battle of endurance. The last remaining Houseguests in the competition were Brittany, Kyle, and Derek. Because Brittany and Kyle were aligned, Kyle attempted to get Derek to throw the competition to Brittany. As a result, Derek suspected a strong bond between the two. When it came down to Brittany and Derek, Brittany ended up slipping and eliminating herself, leaving Derek as the new Head of Household. Derek had his sights set on both Brittany and Kyle, even after making a deal to keep them both safe. An alliance of Derek, Connor, and Pep was formed. This alliance was given nearly absolute control once Connor won the secret veto. Derek initially wanted to nominate Jacob and Marc as pawns, but he realized that he needed Jacob's vote for his plan and Jacob tended to play personally. He ended up nominating Connor and Marc. Connor confronted Derek and told him that he was upset that Derek did not inform him of this prior to the ceremony. He felt as though he was beginning to appear as an easy pawn. Attempting to play both sides of the house, he began spending time with Alex, Brittany, and Josh, ensuring them that he knew of no plans for the week. The Undergods compared their conversations and knew that Connor was an enormous snake. Connor controlled both vetoes after winning the Power of Veto competition and ended up using both at the Veto ceremony, allowing Derek to nominate both Brittany and Kyle. Connor insisted that he had no idea of the plan, although the two nominees were completely aware of his lies. The bonds that Brittany had with various members of the house paid off as Kyle was evicted by a vote of 6-0.

Josh went on to win his second Head of Household competition. Shortly after, Julie Chen revealed that the Mystery Box twist was now over. The game would follow the basic format. Throughout last week's events, Josh and Derek's relationship was under much tension. Josh had attempted to sway Derek to keep his allies safe to no avail. Josh told Derek of his plan to get rid of Connor. Aware of a bond between Derek and Connor, Josh warned Derek that he would probably nominate him as a pawn to make sure that the veto wasn't used on Connor. Derek was upset that he kept Josh safe the previous week. After Josh nominated Connor and Derek, he ended the alliance between himself and Derek. When Josh won the Power of Veto competition, he kept his nominations the same. Derek felt safe for the week and did relatively little strategizing, while Connor scrambled for votes. Up until the start of the live show, Connor's fate seemed to be sealed; however, he managed to flip Pep and Jacob's vote. Pep and Jacob worked to ensure that Connor stayed by attempting to flip one of the free agents in the house - Marc. Marc agreed to evict Derek. Before the eviction, Julie Chen revealed that it was a double eviction night. When the revelation of the vote came the revelation that Marc had lied to Pep and Jacob, leaving Connor to be evicted by a vote of 3-2.

Immediately, Pep owned up to his vote, telling the house that he had evicted Derek. Jacob, however, denied it and even pinned it on Marc. Marc, the one Houseguest with no current allegiances to anyone won the Head of Household competition. He was bombarded by almost every Houseguest as they attempted to convince him to target the opposite side of the house. Marc ended up nominating Jacob and Pep. When he won the Power of Veto competition, Marc kept his nominations the same. Jacob and Pep grasped at straws, with Jacob sticking to his lie. In the end, the house decided to evict the one that they knew had evicted Derek, and Pep was evicted by a vote of 4-0.

Completely isolated from every Houseguest, Jacob won his first competition and became the new Head of Household. He decided to get Josh evicted and, unaware of the Undergods alliance, he nominated Josh and Marc, leaving the vote completely up to the two girls. When Josh won the Power of Veto, Jacob changed his target to Brittany. After nominating her, he and Derek worked to get her evicted. In the end, neither of the voting Undergods flipped, leading to Marc's eviction by a vote of 2-1.

The house was split once again, with the Undergods on one side and Derek and Jacob on the other. After winning the Head of Household competition, Derek rejoiced at the fact that he and Jacob would survive. He nominated Brittany and Josh, hoping that Alex wouldn't win the Power of Veto and destroy his plans for the week. At the Power of Veto competition, it came down to the three Undergods. Brittany, desperately wanting to win a competition, was convinced by Alex and Josh to throw it to Alex. After the two promised Brittany they would throw the next Head of Household competition, she reluctantly agreed. Alex won the Power of Veto and removed Brittany. Alex's vote was undecided up until the eviction. In the end, she stayed true to the Undergods and Jacob was evicted by a vote of 2-0.

Brittany was confident she would win the Head of Household competition, as both of her allies promised they would throw it to her. Alex purposely answered questions wrong, but Josh couldn't pass up the opportunity to win another Head of Household competition. He and Brittany made it to the tiebreaker. They had decided that, should this happen, Brittany would answer low and Josh would answer extremely high; however, Josh decided to give an average answer, while Brittany answered low. Josh won the competition and Brittany, devastated, went off on Josh for lying to her. Josh, not wanting to upset Brittany any further, nominated Alex and Derek. At the final Power of Veto competition, Alex was victorious. She immediately had her mind made up to remove herself and evict Derek. Derek was evicted by a vote of 1-0.

With the Undergods in the final three, Alex and Brittany made a deal that the final two would be an all-female final two; however, Brittany also had a final two deal with Josh that she did not intend to keep. After Brittany won part one, it was between Alex and Josh in part two. Josh won by a landslide, leaving Brittany and Josh to compete in part three. Both of them knew that whoever sat next to Alex would win, but Josh planned on taking Brittany regardless. This final competition effectively would decide the winner of season. Although Brittany took an early lead, Josh recovered, bringing it to a tiebreaker. Brittany won and became the final Head of Household, and Josh was evicted by a vote of 1-0.

The Jury felt that both members of the final two did relatively little. Brittany, however, played an excellent social game, as noted by some Jurors. During the questioning portion of the finale, Alex was incredibly hostile to various members of the Jury. In the end, Brittany was voted the winner by a unanimous vote of 7-0.
